MANETTI SHREM MUSEUM. The Oakland-based artist is inspired by familial and global histories, food, music, and mourning. The exhibition features a reconfigured clock tower sculpture that alludes to market structures in the Eastern Mediterranean Levant region, and new works in ceramic and bronze that speak to familial and cultural ties across time. PENCE GALLERY. This exhibit features the work of ceramic artists Karyn Gabriel, Mark Goudy, Kris Marubayashi, Liza Riddle, and Laura Van Duren. Together, these artists create striking geometric and biomorphic forms that underline their pursuit of simple forms inspired by nature. Free

PENCE GALLERY. Linda Clark Johnson is a Sacramento artist who primarily works with cyanotype, an early photographic process that uses UV light to create luminous blue images without a camera or negative. She prints in her backyard, capturing botanical impressions and their shadows on watercolor paper or fabric. She then uses natural toners, collage, watercolor, and colored pencil to add layers of depth and detail to her work. 11:30a—5p. Free

Dance cards (or ball programmes), popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries, were these small, decorated cards, where young men signed up for specific dances with young girls, a gendered practice that ended in the 1940s. PENCE GALLERY. Learn about the ancient Japanese practice of seed bombs! Using air-dry clay and native wildflower seeds, make seed bombs that you can later plant outdoors or in a garden. Decorate your seed bombs with dried petals and stamps, and design and illustrate a plant care card to help you take care of the wildflowers you plant.
