MANETTI SHREM MUSEUM. The Oakland-based artist is inspired by familial and global histories, food, music, and mourning. The exhibition features a reconfigured clock tower sculpture that alludes to market structures in the Eastern Mediterranean Levant region, and new works in ceramic and bronze that speak to familial and cultural ties across time. THE ARTERY. This show presents Robin Lynde’s and Garry Everett’s two distinct artforms. Robin’s vibrant hand-woven textiles, ranging from wraps to refined home goods, use sophisticated color, pattern, and structure. Garry’s stunning wildlife and landscape photography demonstrate an expressive color palette and clarity of composition. His images capture the natural world while emphasizing the emotions that color can evoke. The artists show how color shapes perception and illuminates form, bridging the worlds of fiber and light. PENCE GALLERY. Linda Clark Johnson is a Sacramento artist who primarily works with cyanotype, an early photographic process that uses UV light to create luminous blue images without a camera or negative. She prints in her backyard, capturing botanical impressions and their shadows on watercolor paper or fabric. She then uses natural toners, collage, watercolor, and colored pencil to add layers of depth and detail to her work. 11:30a—5p. Free

Dance cards (or ball programmes), popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries, were these small, decorated cards, where young men signed up for specific dances with young girls, a gendered practice that ended in the 1940s.
