Thursdays in the Davisphere Start Sept. 1

Head over to Central Park on Thursdays for evenings of fun, food, and music!

Davis Downtown recently announced Thursdays in the Davisphere, which will run weekly through late October this year. The event was announced after the cancellation of Davis Farmers Market’s Picnic in the Park, which previously featured free music on Wednesdays.

Each Thursday from 4 to 10 pm, several local businesses and bands will gather at Central Park for an evening of music, food, and community-building. All are welcome to attend!

Davis Downtown describes the event as “a vibrant, eclectic, and electric communal atmosphere where there is entertainment for all ages” based on the idea of building positive energy and a sense of belonging.

Food & Drink

The Sept. 1 event will feature foods and beverages from several local businesses. Options will include dumplings, baked desserts, lemonade, shaved ice, coffee, hot dogs, and more from the following places:

Each event will also feature a beer and wine garden hosted by the University of Beer where anyone 21 and over can enjoy Davis’ local brews, ciders, and wines. Some of the proceeds will support a different local nonprofit each week.

The gist: There’s something for everyone!

Music Includes Local/Regional Pop-Rock Bands

With professional equipment to back up each performance (including audio and lighting), the band Noise Violation will open for headliner Thunder Cover.

Thunder Cover covers a variety of pop-rock songs from the last 60 years. Davis Downtown describes the band as “energetic and fun,” meaning you won’t have a dull moment while listening to their performance!

Thursdays in the Davisphere to Become an Annual Series

Davis Downtown aims to make Thursdays in the Davisphere a weekly occurrence each May through October. Show your support by eating, dancing, and finding community at this year’s events!
