Help shape land use concepts for the Davis General Plan on April 30

by: Barbara Archer, City of Davis

The City of Davis invites community members to attend the second General Plan workshop on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center, located at 203 E 14th Street. This workshop will explore land use and mobility concepts that will guide how Davis meets current and future job and housing needs. Community members are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives on how Davis should evolve over time.

Please register for the meeting at: bit.ly/DavisGPUWorkshop2.

This is the start of the second phase of the General Plan process that explores land use and mobility concepts with City commissions, reviews land use and mobility concepts with the community, makes revisions to maps and identifies policy directions.

Spanish interpretation services will be available at the event. Activities for children and refreshments will also be provided to help ensure the workshop is accessible to families and community members of all ages.

The General Plan serves as the City’s long-term policy framework for guiding transportation, housing, sustainability and community development. The Davis 2050 General Plan Update is an opportunity for residents to help shape the vision and priorities that will guide Davis for the next several decades. Community participation is a key component of the planning process, and feedback gathered during this phase will help inform the development of plan alternatives and future policy direction.
