Rotary Club of Davis disperses $74k to local nonprofits
The Rotary Club of Davis has facilitated $74,000 in donations to support four nonprofits in Yolo County. Leaders of the nonprofits were recognized and given checks at a Rotary luncheon on April 13.
The recipients of the charitable proceeds from Rotary’s Big Night Gala fundraiser are: Yolo Crisis Nursery, Yolo County Children’s Alliance, and Cameron’s Place—each receiving $20,000. This year’s Fund-A-Need recipient was Empower Yolo, receiving $14,000.
Opening in 2002, Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA) is a nonprofit organization that ensures everyone in Yolo County has access to the resources they need to build meaningful ties to their communities. To accomplish this, YCCA has expanded on our foundational role as the designated Child Abuse Prevention Council of Yolo County. Today, we serve as an inter-agency coordinator, building networks of support throughout Yolo County to deliver programs funded by numerous community and government grants, as well as individual donations. Our work focuses on three family-strengthening pillars: Family Support, Parent Education, and Community Collaboration.
Protecting children is at the heart of what they do. They help kids thrive and become resilient in the face of traumatic experiences. They fulfill their mission and achieve their vision through the Nursery’s signature programs: Crisis Overnight and Respite Care, Wraparound Services for Families, and Specialized Infant Day Care and Preschool.
