PENCE GALLERY. Applications are open for the Emerging Artist Award 2024. This $4000 award supports the creation of new work by emerging artists in California and the opportunity to share that work through an exhibit and an artist talk in January 2025. $25—30
Gina Werfel & Hearne Pardee: Fragments
PENCE GALLERY. Fragments highlights recent paintings, collages, and drawings of Gina Werfel and Hearne Pardee. Both have recently retired from teaching at UC Davis, having spent more than 20 years teaching art, in addition to maintaining busy studio practices. Despite the differences between their respective work, they each approach their practice with the intent of layering or fragmenting multiple points of view or perspectives. Free
Erica Norelius: Natural Places & Urban Spaces

The Pence’s Slice exhibit, now in its 12th year, is open for submission by California artists working in any medium (except video or sound). This is an ‘open theme’ exhibit, displaying art that is conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in art.

Art in Action: Putah Creek Flora “Print or Paint”
PENCE GALLERY. Learn about Putah Creek’s native plants and trees and why they are important to our local ecosystem! Use your observational skills to create watercolor illustrations of flowers, branches and pinecones and discover unique patterns of leaves and roots by making rubbings and prints. Art in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun, creative, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12, with no pre-registration required. 1p—3p. $4 members/$8 non-members.
