PENCE GALLERY. In this family art workshop, learn how to make a simple loom with sticks and twine, and weave flowers, leaves, and other natural materials to create your very own wall hanging. Decorate your woven art piece with moss, fabric butterflies, beads, and more to create the perfect fairy hideaway. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12; price is per person making art. 1p—3p. $5—10
LOCATION TBD. In this hands-on adult/family class, we’ll take a familiar childhood love (building forts!) and layer in real wilderness survival skills. Participants will learn how to build tarp shelters, brush shelters, and simple survival structures using natural materials and basic bushcraft techniques. 1p—5p. $25
DAVIS SENIOR CENTER. Join us for Arab American Heritage Month at Beitna: A Gathering for Arab Heritage, Culture, and Solidarity. Beitna, meaning “our house” in Arabic, offers art displays, cultural performances, poetry readings, food, and crafts, highlighting the richness of Arab culture. Bringing together parents, educators, and local supporters, the Matchbook Mixer aims to raise critical funds for the Holmes Junior High Band and Choir programs, led by Luiz Coelho.
