RICHARD BRUNELLE PERFORMANCE CENTER. This Golden Cabaret, our premier benefit event, will showcase performances by the full Jazz Choir, along with breakout solos, small group numbers, and a very special 50th Anniversary Alumni performance on Saturday. WOODLAND SENIOR CENTER, WOODLAND. Tai chi classes suitable for beginners of all ages and fitness levels are now offered twice a week, Mondays and Fridays, at the beautiful Woodland Community & Senior Center! Tai chi (太极) is an ancient Chinese martial art that is practiced mainly for physical and mental health. It is a type of moving meditation in which breathing is coordinated with a series of fluid movements and postures. Our affiliation with animals, plants, & the wild spaces of our world is defined as ‘biophilia,’ or love for living things. Twentieth-century naturalist E.O. Wilson offered the theory that humans are ‘hard-wired’ to build a complex relationship with the natural world in his book Biophilia (1984). In our 21st century world, the question is how do we build relationships with a natural world that is under threat from climate change, habitat destruction, and other forces?
