DAVIS SHAMBHALA MEDITATION CENTER. Join us for 4 Saturday mornings in April to learn a simple yet profound meditation practice that is grounded in the ancient Tibetan teachings of Shambhala. Centered on the notion of basic goodness these teachings & practices are meant for times of joy & also times that are unsettling and difficult. They describe how people can actually make use of tenderness, sadness & fear to access an open awareness that is clear seeing, steady & kind. Each Saturday morning session (9-Noon) will include talks, guided meditation instruction, small discussion groups & a tea break. All levels of practice welcome. In-person only. DAVIS ARTS CENTER. A whimsical tour of local Davis landmarks is captured in Pauline Jackson’s delightful quilted paintings. Her art will be on display at the Davis Arts Center from April 26 through May 3, 2025 culminating in a reception with the artist on May 3 at the DAC from 3-6 PM. 10a - 6p. Free.

WOODLAND OPERA HOUSE. The Prom follows a group of Broadway actors whose careers have hit a rough patch. They decide to take up the cause of a high school student named Emma, who has been banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom in their small Indiana town. The Broadway actors descend on the town to help Emma and fight for LGBTQ+ acceptance, using their theatrical talents and star power. $9-35
