JAN 30 THRU JUNE 25. MANETTI SHREM MUSEUM. The UC Davis Professor Emeritus' first solo U.S. museum exhibition in 20 years brings to light the pioneering artist’s rarely seen contributions to the history of contemporary painting and filmmaking, radical Black politics & to the story of California art. Integrates paintings & films by Henderson that offer new ideas about Black life in the visual languages of protest, Afro-futurism & surrealism.
DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL. Celebrate the start of spring & St. Patrick's Day. Race distances include a 5K, 7K, 10K and Kids Fun Runs. Events start & finish at Davis High School in North Davis (adjacent to Community Park). Loop courses travel along city streets, along bike paths & through residential neighborhoods. UC DAVIS ARC PAVILION. 45 high school teams are inspired to see the potential of energy storage in a new light as they compete to charge up their communities. Teams also compete for awards in engineering and community engagement. 9a—5p.
