Rachel Li and Evelyn Alverez Exhibit

March 1 @ 8:00 am - March 29 @ 3:00 pm

Free

Gallery 1855 is located on the grounds of the Davis Cemetery and is open Mondy – Friday from 8 am to 3 pm.

The featured artist Evelyn Alverez and Rachel Li are both Art Students at UCD.

Evelyn states that through her work she aims to show discomfort, vulerability and distress caused by the disconnect between the mind and the body. When the mind and body are not in a parallel state, it causes negative feelings like distress, dejection and anxiety. My work magnifies those feelings that exist in the volatile relationship between a physical body and a mental one that only seem to intersect with a stuggle in the internal battle.

Rachel states in the realm of her canvases, reality dances with the extraodinary, and the mundane transforms into the magical. I am a young artist fueled by a deep love for the surreal, exploring the limitless possibilities that art making offers to manifest the dreams and fantasies that reside witthin me.
