The City of Davis announced today that Recology Davis will be mailing the annual Bulky Waste Landfill Voucher for City of Davis residential customers at the end of April. The one-time use voucher will be valid from May 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026.
The voucher will allow Davis residents to dispose of one load of bulky waste for free at the Yolo County Central Landfill. The load can be up to a full-size pick-up truck bed, full-sized van or small trailer (no more than three feet high or eight feet long) in size. Disposal of additional items outside the limits of the voucher must be paid for by the customer. The voucher will be printed with details on what materials will be accepted.
The voucher is the “ticket” for the program, so residents are asked to watch their mail and hold onto to their voucher as they will need to bring it with them when they go to the Landfill. Only one voucher will be accepted per household, and proof of residency within the City of Davis will be required at the Landfill (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.) that matches the address shown on the voucher. If someone is hauling your waste to the Landfill for you with your voucher, the person hauling the waste must have your proof of residency to validate the voucher.
This voucher will be valid only for City of Davis residents; commercial haulers and business materials will not be accepted. Vouchers cannot be given to another household, landscaper or business as they can only be redeemed by the resident at the address listed on the voucher. The vouchers are not redeemable for cash.
