DAVIS ARTS CENTER. In this joyful adult-child workshop, you and your kiddo will explore the fun of clay together. You’ll try out simple techniques to make things like cups, vases, bowls, and plates on the pottery wheel. This class is all about process over product—nothing will be fired or glazed. DAVIS ARTS CENTER. Using hand-building techniques, students will learn three different ways to build a custom soap dish, and possibly a matching toothbrush holder. This is a two-day workshop and attendance is required for both. 1p—4p. $100
DAVIS ARTS CENTER. Sculpt and decorate your own clay cup using a hand-building technique called darting. After shaping the cup, students will finish it by applying a colorful glaze of their choice, making the cup both functional and food safe. Using simple, household “ingredients,” students will learn a variety of easy book structures that can be replicated at home. All materials are provided. For ages 10+; participants must know how to safely use a needle and thread, and children must be accompanied by an adult. 10:30a—12p. $35
THE ARTERY. Create your own acrylic ice-cream painting while having fun. Kristina will lead kids and their grown-ups to paint their favorite flavors. Participants will learn to mix colors and discover the color wheel. For children ages 5-8 (with one parent) or 9+; all materials included. 3p—4:30p. $25
