PENCE GALLERY. Slice celebrates the diversity of expression in our region with an array of sculpture, prints, paintings, and photography created by 36 visual artists. Representing a ‘slice’ of work fresh from the studio produced by new and established artists working in the state, this annual juried exhibit has quickly gained a reputation for displaying innovative and thought-provoking work. 11:30a—5p. THE ARTERY. The Artery presents a very special mother and daughter art exhibit. With nature and birds as the common theme, painter and sculptor Cathie James-Robinson and painter Amanda Cadelago each bring their unique style to this show. Free
INTERNATIONAL HOUSE DAVIS. Hope Café is an experiment in building community and resilience. Enjoy live music and poetry, community choirs, drinks and snacks, and conversations about care, joy and possibility. Tickets required (sliding scale). 6:30p—8:30p. $5—15
DAVIS ARTS CENTER. Join us for a hands-on workshop designed to refine your wheel throwing technique. The focus is on skill-building, so students will leave with enhanced technique rather than finished pieces. Materials provided. 11a—4p. $115
THE ARTERY. The Artery presents “The Artery Menagerie” in conjunction with CCACA, the ceramic sculpture conference at the Natsoulas Gallery. The invitational exhibit of animal sculptures features twenty eight Northern California ceramic artists. Many of these artists competed in our previous California Clay Competition. Wesley Wright, a speaker at the CCACA, is also represented in the show. Free.

This is an ‘open theme’ exhibit, which showcases art that is conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in art.
