Sunrise Rotary Club’s Oktoberfest helps the community

By: Brodie Hamilton, Davis Sunrise Rotary Club

Raise your steins to join the Davis Sunrise Rotary’s 19th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 25, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, in Central Park in Davis.

This year’s menu will include brats, potato salad and green salad (vegan selection available).  Along with each ticket (meal plus one beverage: $40 each/$30 for students, $45/$35 at the door), attendees can purchase beer (select from eight local brews), wine, non-alcoholic beverages, pretzels, and dessert items.

Tickets can be purchased online now through October 23 at davisrotary.org.  Attendees can enjoy music by the Grand Isle Fire Brigade oompah band, participate in axe throwing and the stein-holding competition, and enjoy the silent auction.

Annually, this event raises about $40,000, thanks to the community’s support.  Rotary returns these funds to our community through a variety of service organizations*.  This year, one of the beneficiaries will be Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance, which provides family-centered support services to address the emotional, financial, and educational impacts of a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Davis Sunrise Rotary is a service club located in Davis, CA. The club meets in person and via Zoom on Friday mornings and all community members are invited to attend.  For more information, community members can email Brodie Hamilton at brodie.hamilton49@gmail.com.
