Davis, CA – International House Davis (I-House) invites the community to an evening of Indian classical music on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Featuring Abhishek Basu on tabla and Chiradip Sarkar on santoor, touring the USA from India, this performance is part of the I-House World Tour program and offers a rare opportunity to experience their artistry live. The musicians will perform two extended compositions based on a single raaga, beginning with a slow, meditative rhythm and gradually building to a fast-paced, energetic finale.
In addition to the performance, Basu and Sarkar will introduce their instruments and share insights into the structure and mood of the raaga, making the evening engaging and accessible for audiences of all experience levels.

Abhishek Basu and Chiradip Sarkar are accomplished Indian classical musicians whose performances blend rhythm and melody into a dynamic, meditative experience. Trained under legendary mentors—including Bickram Ghosh, the late Pandit Sankar Ghosh, and Grammy nominee Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya—they honor classical lineage while bringing fresh energy and intimate improvisation to the stage. Their USA tour brings this unique musical experience to audiences across the country.
