Make & Take: Chinese Water and Ink Painting

PEREGRINE SCHOOL, SOUTH. In this class, participants will learn basic elements of Chinese painting and calligraphy. They will spend time learning basic strokes while painting their choice of still life and writing Chinese characters with a traditional Chinese brush. The benefits of practicing Chinese calligraphy and painting includes: improving fine motor skills, a source of relaxation and stress relief, a form of meditation and connection with nature. 10a - 12p. $25.

Kids Cook Strawberry Shortcakes

PEREGRINE SCHOOL, SOUTH. It's spring! Which means strawberries & one of the best ways to enjoy them is barely sweetened & poured over tender shortcakes topped with fluffy whipped cream. In this class, students will: learn some basic knife skills chopping the strawberries; learn about how to cut in the butter for the most tender biscuits & shortcakes; whipping up the softest cream & take home a delicious hand made dessert (or eat it right away, whichever they prefer). Bike Tune Up Workshop

In this workshop we will go over: basic tools; regular home maintenance; how to change a flat tire; lube the chain; basic tune up points & what to stock in your saddle bag for repairs while riding. 10a - 12p. $35.

Make & Take: Ikebana Japanese Flower Arrangement

PEREGRINE SCHOOL, SOUTH. Participants will learn the basics of flower arranging in the Sogetsu style of Ikebana, whose motto is "Anytime, anywhere, by anyone." Using a variety of containers and materials, we'll learn the basic ratios of arranging to make them beautiful every time, as well as some techniques to make flower arrangements last longer. WHAT TO BRING (OPTIONAL): Bring your favorite flowers from your own garden or a special container from home to arrange with. 3:45p - 5:15p. $25.
