“If I’m ever harmed and unable to speak for myself, forgive the perpetrator and help others forgive that person,” David wrote in a text message to his sister in 2012. “Today while at the bench in Davis I experienced someone who seemed to want to hurt me. I’m noticing incidents here in this town of people actively opposed to who I am and what I do. Forgive.”
Doors are open at the brand new Gorman Museum of Native American Art at UC Davis, a space that is much larger and much more easily accessible.
