Over 200 people went through the line to pick up trays and wine glasses at “A Taste of Davis and Yolo” on Sunday evening, Sept. 28. At 6 p.m., the starting line of patrons went around the Odd Fellows Building on Fourth Street to Hunan Bar & Restaurant on D Street. Thanks to this enthusiastic paying crowd, Odd Fellows was able to donate $5,000 to Meals on Wheels, a home-delivered meal program for residents of Yolo County who are age 60 or older and mobility-limited.
The event featured an eclectic variety of foods, wine, desserts, and beer furnished by Bandolio Olive Oil, Dunloe Brewing, Olive Oil, Curry Kabab Paradise, Hunan Bar & Restaurant, L’Apéro les Trois, Ludy’s BBQ and Catering, Maya’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant, Mercado Davis, Super Owl Brewing, The Davis Creamery, The HIVE Tasting Room and Kitchen, Taber Ranch Vineyard, Three Mile Brewing Co., and Turkovich Family Winery.
A big thank you to those purveyors listed above and the major sponsors of the event from Edward Jones: Financial Officers David Cougevan, Nicole Davis, Sterling Koliba, Jen Kukis, Peter Jensen, Rusty Seymour from Davis and Joe Trotter from Winters.
Also thank you to member sponsors: Benay Bernstein, Craig Caudill, Terri Fong, Pam & Sven Holm, Roy Kaplan, Shirley Levy, Jim & Holly Moen, Kathy & Ted Puntillo, Michael & Mabel Reynolds, Alexis Roberts, Lea & Dave Rosenberg, Tony Ruiz, Santosh Sah, David Siegel & Nancy Lazarus, Nancy & Blake Temple, Carl Treseder, Joyce Trujillo, Lisette Walker & Tapua Gwarada, Michelle Weiss, and Carol Youmans.
It takes lots of volunteer work and coordination to bring “A Taste of Davis & Yolo” to the community. A big thank-you goes to Co-chairs Lea & Dave Rosenberg and members of the Odd Fellows: Benay Bernstein, Holly & Matt Bishop, Jan Bower, Beth Dovi, Carol Gray, Jonathan Groveman, Larry Guenther, Jared Hippler, Susan Hodgson, Roy Kaplan, Shirley Levy, Holly & Jim Moen, Becky & Juan Parales, David Siegel, Greg Tanner, Carl Treseder, Joyce Trujillo, Lisette Walker, and Michelle Weiss.
This is the eleventh annual food and drink festival hosted by Davis Odd Fellows Lodge #169. “A Taste of Davis & Yolo” will be back again next year as a major enjoyable social gathering and fundraiser.
