The Matter of Light. Joseph Belacera Dec 8, 2023 – Feb 2, 2024
Grounded in the concept that everything in the universe is a manifestation of the energy of light, Joseph Bellacera has created several series of work that reflect his interest in changing light into matter, and matter into light. In large-scale mixed media works and digital print, the artist turns his observations of the natural world into intriguing configurations of color, pattern, and texture. Using materials as diverse as wood, concrete, hydrocal, and clay, Bellacera constructs forms that alter and build upon geometric solids, covering them in a heightened range of colors.
