PENCE GALLERY. Rochelle Mason uses her imagination in painting bold, colorful abstracts of beautifully designed animals by applying swirling, flowing brushstrokes and defining intriguing shapes. Mason loosely bases her Focus on Nature: Beyond Eden series on animals considered unpopular and unappreciated with the purpose of helping people transcend “speciesism.” 11:30a—5p. Free

PENCE GALLERY. Part of the Pence's Healing Arts Program, this one-time, 90-minute art workshop focuses more broadly on a theme related to depression, anxiety, or major life changes. Through the process of art making, participants will have opportunities for discussion, education, and connecting with peers in a safe and supportive space. Students will study the general anatomy of the body, how to add facial expressions and “personality,” and then practice drawing animals in pencil.
