BEAR VALLEY Y CAMP, NEVADA CITY. Sign up our first-ever 4-day, 3-night Family Camp from August 14—17! Join us for a nurturing and nourishing retreat created for both children and adults to slow down, reconnect, and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature together. Children 2 and under are free. $250—400
THE BARN STUDIO. Engage your child’s creativity in a supportive space where young artists explore 2D art techniques like charcoal, pastels, and paints. Sessions offer guided prompts and the freedom to pursue independent projects. 3:30p—5:30p. Free
STEPHENS BRANCH LIBRARY. Join on Tuesdays & bring a project to work on while visiting with your neighbors. 5:30p–7p. Free
BARN STUDIO. Bring your under 5 little ones to explore their artistic side and get messy at the Barn Studio! Every Wednesday, arts activity stations will be available for you and your mini to discover together that encourage materials exploration and develop motor skills. The School of Building Your Craft is offering an 8-week training program designed for artists of beginner/intermediate level to focus on building essential skills in drawing, painting, color and design. STEPHENS DAVIS BRANCH LIBRARY. Read to a therapy dog! For ages 5-12, in the Children’s Activity Room. Sign up for a 10-minute reading slot at the Children’s Desk on the afternoon of the program, no prior registration. 3p–4:30p.
DAVIS ARTS CENTER. Explore an array of different art materials, such as paint, oil pastels, and recycled materials. Supplies will be available to let your creative imagination run wild, but you are welcome to bring your own! An adult must attend with at least one child, and children must attend with an adult. Art Explorers: Family Open Studio is FREE every second Friday for ArtAbout. 5p—7p. $5

PENCE GALLERY. Create magical mosaic art using glass tiles, air-dry clay, beads, textured fabric, and more. Art in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun, creative, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12. Price is per person, per session. You are welcome to attend both. 12p—1:30p & 2:30p—4p. $5—10
