The Village Feast celebrates the Sacramento-region Farm to Fork season, where we gather to enjoy and honor the bounty of our local farmers by meeting together for an afternoon of dining at communal tables, in the style of a Provençal Grand Aïoli. In the spirit of a Grand Aïoli, please bring your own table settings, plates, silverware, glasses, and napkins so you can enjoy this communal meal.
Aperitifs include olives, nuts, local wines, and fresh baguettes. The meal is served family-style, with passed platters of heirloom tomatoes drizzled with local olive oil. Steamed and grilled local vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, and bowls of garlic-scented aïoli follow the tomatoes. Next comes the grilled lamb and summer white bean salad. The bottles empty, the bread is eaten, and dessert is served—fruit tart, or as the French say, a galette.
