August 7, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free

This is event #4 in a six part Summer Family Concert Series partially supported by City of Davis Arts and Cultural Affairs. The Capital City Pow-Wow Drum and Dance Corps is a Native American professional group which combines exciting drumming with singing and storytelling. The music will be at 11:00 on Saturday morning, August 7, in the Peregrine School yard, 2650 Lillard Drive, Davis California. All are welcome, with a suggested but not required donation of $15 per family.

Capital City Pow-wow Drum and Dance Group were created to teach Native youth in the community about Native American culture, songs, and dances. The group is led by educators who are also siblings and are also teachers and members of the Peregrine community: Joaquin and Benito Rojas and Corrina Snow. Together they have been singing for 20 plus years and are also singers, part of a group called Red Hoop Singers. Traveling across the USA at Powwows, ceremonies, gatherings, and many other events. We are grateful for an opportunity to share our songs with Peregrine School and hope you enjoy the music!”
