Miridae Living Labs

Miridae Living Labs is a non-profit organization in the Sacramento area dedicated to using native insects and plants as tools for education, research, and community engagement. Miridae Living Labs strives to generate positive ecological changes in our communities under the guidance and leadership of community members.

Story Reading & Tree of Life Activity with Tuleyome

Tuleyome is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit conservation organization based in Woodland, California. The word “Tuleyome” (pronounced too-lee-OME-ee) is a Lake Miwok Indian word that means “deep home place”. And that term “deep home place” exemplifies our deep connection to our environment, our communities and our regional public lands.

Discover the World of Stingless Bees!

Jean-Philippe Marelli, owner of Arimubee, will introduce you to the diversity of stingless bees (Melipona), their hive and how the colony is organized. Taste Melipona honey from his Brazillian hives. Profits from Melipona honey sales will go towards his Master beekeeper capstone project which deals with rescuing and rearing Plebeia bees, the only Brazilian stingless bee species that was introduced in California in the 50’s and that is still present in the Palo Alto area!

Our Promise to The Earth

The environment is important to us. Our goal is to create a completely sustainable event by fostering a culture of environmentalism and diverting waste from landfills. All of our disposables are completely compostable or reusable. How you can help: Sort your waste accordingly with our 3-bin system. Bring your own water bottle to refill at our water station. Biking is also encouraged-we have designated parking for bikes.
