Music Conversations – Celebrating International Women’s Day

Lauma Akmene invites you to join her for “Music Conversations” on Sunday, March 6 at 3 pm at Davis Lutheran Church, 317 E 8th St, Davis. Akmene will play music by female composers in celebration of International Women’s Day.  The program will include organ music composed by

Florence Beatrice Price (1887 – 1953), Jeanne Demessieux (1921-1968), and Clara Schumann (1819-1896).

Lauma Akmene studied organ and church music with Hans-Ola Ericsson at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal and at the Luther Academy in Riga. Lauma studied organ and piano performance at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv.
