Mace Ranch History : From Sheep To Science Presentation

Visit Explorit Science Center in Mace Ranch Park and get some history of the property and of Davis as well.
Explorit is located in the 1951 Mace Ranch House. Mrs. Mace resided in the home until 1985.
This audio/video presentation will cover from the 1850 purchase of the land by Colonel Chiles, the 2-story mansion on the site, the Adobe house on the site, and the 1951 Mace Ranch House, plus more.
How well do you know Davis history? When was Davisville mapped out & by whom? Why do we have Chiles Road & Mace Boulevard? Why are there ram heads on the Mace Ranch Park signs at either end of Alhambra? What’s up with the olive tree lined bike path from 2nd to 5th behind Target?
The answers to these questions and more will be covered in the presentation.
Tickets to the presentation are included in the price of admission to Explorit.
Admission is only $5 for adults & children over 2, which includes current exhibition (Healthy Planet Healthy You), Animal Alcove, & our Pollinator Garden.
Public hours on Sunday, May 22nd, are 10:00am – 2:00pm.
The program will be shown at 12:00pm.
