Davis Travelaires Day Trip: Sierra Nevada Brewery

After several years of tinkering with home brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company founders Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi opened their brewery in 1980. Their pale ale was an instant hit and is now the second best selling craft beer in the United States while Sierra Nevada is in the top 10 craft breweries in the U.S. by production. We will tour the beautiful Westside Brewhouse, learning about the brewing process, peering into the kettles, venturing into the hop cooler to see and feel the hops, and discovering fermentation facts while standing beneath huge 800-barrel tanks. To end the tour, we will try four delicious Sierra Nevada beers. Lunch will be at the Sierra Nevada Tap Room.
