Thursdays in The Davisphere has been canceled for 2023.

Though the series’ return was announced in a press release Sept. 1, the Downtown Davis Business Association now says The Davisphere is canceled for this year.

The concert series was to begin at Central Park next month.

According to a press release sent Sept. 16, “several factors led to the difficult decision.”

Details about those factors were not given; The Dirt has reached out to the DDBA more information on contributing factors.

The Davisphere was an outdoor concert series in September & October of 2022, funded by a grant from the City of Davis.

“The postponement gives the organization time to raise funds and plan for a spectacular 2024 series,” the DDBA said in their press release.
