More Great Songs from Unfortunate Musicals

April 10, noon – 1pm; Live@DCC Free Noon Concert Series: “MORE Great Songs from Unfortunate Musicals” at the Davis Community Church, 4th and “C” Streets, Davis.
Some of the best (and best-loved) songs of the Great American Songbook have come from flop musicals—and some of the best songwriters in the business.
Now we’re back with more great tunes for your enjoyment. One song from a big-budget flop was a late-career smash for Frank Sinatra. Another went through two movies and three lyric changes before emerging as a hit on its own. Still another began life in a failed Broadway show, then gained lasting fame when it was inserted into an iconic World War II Hollywood classic.
CapRadio’s Stephen Peithman (“Connections”) provides the inside stories, while Lenore Sebastian and Joe Alkire deliver the vocals, accompanied by LuAnn Higgs. (Stephen sings a bit, too.)
It’s music to brighten your spirits—and make your day.
