Holmes Junior High Band & Choir Fundraiser Mixer

The Holmes Band & Choir Boosters are proud to announce the inaugural Matchbook Mixer, an afternoon of wine, music, and community fundraising to support student music programs. The event will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Matchbook Wine Company in Zamora, California.
Bringing together parents, educators, and local supporters, the Matchbook Mixer aims to raise critical funds for the Holmes Junior High Band and Choir programs, led by Luiz Coelho. Proceeds will directly benefit instrument purchases and repairs, professional sectional instruction, performance opportunities, and transformative field trip experiences.
Guests will enjoy curated wine tastings from Matchbook Wine Company and live musical performances by world-class artists. Featured performers include Joshua Elmore, a former student of Mr. Coelho and the principal bassoonist of the San Francisco Symphony, and Wealth of Nations, a legendary jam band based in Davis that’s been lighting up the Sacramento metro music scene for nearly a decade. Finally, there will be a lively silent auction featuring unique experiences and local offerings.
“This event is about more than fundraising—it’s about strengthening our community and ensuring our kids learn the confidence, teamwork, and power of self-expression that great music education provides.” said Alpin Hong, President of the Holmes Band & Choir Boosters.
Tickets will be $100 per guest, with a $150 VIP option that includes complimentary ground transportation. There is also a “dry pass” option for $70 that excludes the wine tasting portion of the event. Community members and local businesses are also invited to participate as sponsors or donate auction items or services to help amplify the event’s impact.
