High school students across Yolo County are invited to use their creativity to strengthen democracy through a new Student Voter Empowerment Design Contest sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Yolo County, Yolo County Library Services, and the Woodland Public Library.
The countywide design contest encourages students to create original artwork promoting youth voter registration and participation.
Open to all Yolo County high school students, the competition seeks designs that reflect nonpartisan themes like: “Democracy Works When We Do,” and “Register, Vote, Repeat.”
Winning entries will receive first-, second-, and third-place prizes, and selected designs will be printed, distributed, and displayed throughout Yolo County.
The contest officially begins Friday, February 13, 2026, with a submission deadline of Friday, March 27, 2026. Artwork may be submitted at drop boxes located at all county and city libraries or mailed to the League of Women Voters of Yolo County.
The contest is designed to showcase student talent and empower young people to see themselves as active participants in the democratic process, according to organizers.
Students are required to submit a completed parental permission form and a short written statement describing their inspiration and creative process, along with a statement of authenticity. Artwork must follow specific size guidelines depending on format, such as posters, flyers, or stickers.
