Puberty 101: A Teen Workshop about Menstruation and Pelvic Health

Puberty 101 is a free event that runs from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm on February 28, 2026 in the Mary L Stephens Davis Library event space, the Blanchard Room. Parents and teens aged 11-18 are encouraged to join.
During the event, you can expect to:
– Hear from expert Liz Oleson, a board certified nurse practitioner and owner of Davis Sexual Health Clinic, about topics such as physical and emotional changes during puberty, menstruation, hygiene and self-care
– Hear from UCD Registered Organizations HerScope and Davis Period about women’s health topics
– Create a mini period kit with hygiene products such as pads, tampons, panty liners etc.
– Learn how different period products work by watching a demonstration and practicing with tampons, menstrual cups, and discs on anatomical models
– Connect with other teens in the Davis community
