“Happy Hour” Schorré Chevalier Oldham: Paintings including Acrylic & Paper Collages

Schorré states that her exhibit, Happy Hour, is about facing uncertainty with optimism. “Working daily with my simplified palette in solitude allows me to create what makes me happy.” The limited color palette of red, yellow, and blue with black and white provided unlimited possibilities. Project 365’s small collages were constructed using papers created on a gel plate with acrylic paint. The prints are texture-rich with repetitive and irregular patterns. The larger paintings, while using the same elements, expanded her use of color, depth, and rhythm.
This body of work is her way of making sense of the world around her. In the midst of big life changes requiring shifts in perspective, making art was, and is, her lifeline. Working daily with the simplified palette in solitude allows Schorré to create what makes her happy.
