Drawings and Watercolor Figures
Mary Moxley
June 28 to July 25
2nd Friday ArtAbout Reception: July 11, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Logos Books, 513 Second Street, Davis, CA, 95616
Art has been a force of nature throughout Mary’s life. Drawing provides the basis for her compositions and guides the planning for each final painting.
People are her favorite subjects. She’s always looking for something interesting in her subject’s look, pose, location or attire. Much of her work focuses on children because working with young people has given her the most enjoyable experiences in creating her artwork.
Mary’s background includes a teaching credential in art with an emphasis in drawing. When she retired from her career a friend introduced her to a watercolor group based in Davis and she was hooked. Watercolor has now become her favored medium for the past nine years. She utilizes the medium to create a body of work that illuminates fleeting moments of emotion.
