Pence Gallery Reception

PENCE GALLERY. The Pence Gallery is hosting a public reception on April 25, 6 – 9 PM. We will be open in conjunction with the 2025 California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA) by the John Natsoulas Gallery. This is a free event at the Pence, & visitors can enjoy browsing our art exhibits and complimentary wine. Exhibits on display include the Biophilia: Our Longing for Nature group show, Flights of Fancy: Frankie Hansbearry & Marsha Elam upstairs, and Watercolor by Joanne Andresen’s Watercolor Class along the stairway. 6p – 9p. Free.

Paint & Sip

GREAT BEAR VINEYARDS. Come & indulge your inner artist with our lavender painting class while sipping on a glass of Great Bear Vineyards wine! The class will be led by local artists, Anne & Pooja, & you will create a beautiful painting inspired by the lavender harvest at Great Bear Vineyards. 1p – 3p. $60 tickets includes materials & first glass of wine.

PENCE GALLERY. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels, ages 18 and up, are welcome and encouraged to join. 6:30p—9p. $15-22

Make & Take: Paint Your Own Ice Cream Treat

PEREGRINE SCHOOL. Learn to use acrylic paint to make a sweet creation with painter Kristina Kernytska. Students will: create a composition based on simple geometric shapes; learn how to create a contrasting, bright painting using the color wheel; learn how to use acrylic painting materials and techniques. 1p – 3p. $35.

Watercolor Painting with Misuk Goltz (6-Sessions)

PENCE GALLERY. During this six-week workshop beginning March 18, students will practice “mock” plein air painting with artist Misuk Goltz. Although participants will be painting indoors at the Pence Gallery, the class will choose references from places in California & pretend to visit the countryside, near the water, café, or a city to paint. Throughout the class, four different subjects will be painted, with one session being a figurative/portrait painting, & demonstrations, critiques, & individual guidance will be provided. Participants should have some previous watercolor experience. Tuesdays, 10a—12p. $180—190

Paint n’ Sip

GREAT BEAR VINEYARDS. Unleash your creativity at Great Bear Vineyards on Saturday, February 8, from 1-3 PM with our Paint & Sip event! Join local artists Anne and Pooja for a fun mixed-media painting class inspired by the holiday season, all while enjoying a glass of Great Bear wine. Tickets are $60 & include all art supplies, your canvas & your first glass of wine, with additional wine available for purchase. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or trying something new, this event promises a delightful afternoon in our beautiful vineyard setting. 1p – 3p. $60
