The theme for the 110th Picnic Day will be “Picnic Palooza” and is set to feature Sheri Atkinson as parade marshal.
The annual UC Davis open house is schedule for April 20, 2020.
Picnic Day is organized by a 15 student Board of Directors within the Associated Students of UC Davis, which selected the theme.
Atkinson is the associate vice chancellor of student life, campus community and retention services in Student Affairs. Atkinson joined UC Davis in 2003 and has served as director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual Resource Center and executive director of Community Resource and Retention Centers. In 2014, Atkinson was awarded a doctorate in educational leadership from UC Davis.
“The word palooza sparks the vision of festive and celebratory ventures, which showcases the specularity of Picnic Day,” read a press release from the ASUCD.
Picnic Day is one of the largest student-run events in the nation. The event showcases and celebrates the richness of campus life, highlights the diverse achievements of the UC Davis family, and provides a day of education, information & entertainment.
Picnic Day events include fun for the whole family with a children’s fair, musical and dance performances, educational exhibits and sporting events.
