Art Spark is a free, community art program hosted by the Manetti Shrem Museum.
Each weekend, you’ll find artists working and ready to help guests learn art techniques and skills. Art Spark explores different themes inspired by the art on display in the museum.
This month, it’s all about papier-mâché, as participants learn how to make their own paper an shape it over sculpted cardboard.
It’s wet, it’s squishy, it’s colorful: my kids had more than an hour of uninterrupted, creative play. As a parent–one who tends to lean artsy– these are the things i want to be doing with my children at home. But, time. And mess.
Art Spark fixes that all. They plan the project, provide the materials–and it’s free!
You just show up and make memories with your family.

Art Spark classes are self-paced, so while the studio is open from noon–4p, you may find your group only uses an hour or two of the time. All skill levels are welcome.
