DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, April 8\, 6:30-9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30-9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses. From March 27-29\, 2026\, Yolo Fest celebrates the region’s agriculture\, music\, arts\, culture\, farm-to-table food\, craft beverages\, recreation\, and local hospitality. \nThe Pence Gallery in Davis will be open with three spectacular art exhibits from 11:30 AM – 5 PM\, and admission is free to view these displays by these visual artists: \nManuel Fernando Rios: When They Reminisce Over You\nFebruary 7 – March 29\nIn his exhibit\, Rios shares his interest in themes that explore his Chicano heritage\, as well as his family’s history and experiences. Blurring the line between naturalism and abstraction\, the artist embraces the use of complex design patterns\, photography\, and text to make a powerful statement. \nAssorted Flavors: Pence Member Exhibit\nMarch 13 – April 16\nView 40 works of art created by Pence Members in this widely ranging annual display of paintings\, photographs\, textiles\, and more. \nBarbara Prodaniuk: Myths in Mud\nMarch 13 – April 26\nProdaniuk is a ceramic artist whose work is inspired by the forest\, meadows\, and waterways of the Truckee area. She explores stories carried by the animals and artifacts found in these environments. \nSpecial Weekend Activities \nSelf-guided Scavenger Hunt:\nMarch 28-29\, 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM\nFree to participate!\nJoin us for a fun\, art-themed scavenger hunt at the gallery by exploring the Pence’s exhibits. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a variety of arrangements that include traditional and unusual materials\, and a variety of beautiful containers. The connection between the artwork and floral design can include using similar colors\, themes\, textures\, or overall composition. \nParticipating floral designers include Janet Goehring\, Joyce Hamaguchi\, Elly Fairclough\, MJ Kelly\, Rhody Vallejo\, Elisabetta Vivoda\, Mike MacDonald\, Stephanie DeGraff-Hunt\, and Julie Haney. Learn how to build an incredible treasure chest using origami paper\, decorative ribbons\, and more. Also make art with your community by joining us for a collaborative weaving project that includes yarn\, a rug canvas\, pom poms\, and other fiber materials. \nHow it works:\nArt in Action engages kids in art projects that are fun\, creative\, and collaborative with their family members. This is a drop-in program for ages 5-12. No registration in advance is required\, but space and supplies are limited to the first 25 participants and are available on a first come\, first served basis. When you arrive\, pay with cash or card at the front desk. A parent or adult caregiver is required to stay\, but only has to pay for the project for themselves if they are also doing art. DESCRIPTION:Figure Drawing Session\nWednesday\, January 28\, 6:30–9 PM\n$15 Members\, $22 Non-Members | Limited to 10 participants\nRegistration & payment is required in advance through the Pence’s website. \nWe hold self-guided figure drawing sessions with a nude model every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month\, from 6:30–9 PM. This group is for both experienced artists and amateurs to have an opportunity to draw from the nude model. If you have never drawn from a live model before and would like to join us\, you are very welcome! People of all skill levels\, ages 18 and up\, are welcome and encouraged to join. \nThis is not a class\, and no instruction is provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-competitive. Bring your own art materials\, and we’ll provide a comfortable place to sketch or paint live models in our upstairs classroom space. Participants will work independently through a warm up with shorter poses and longer\, twenty-minute poses.
