How Davis Sunrise Rotary’s Oktoberfest helps the community

By: Davis Sunrise Rotary

Join the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club for Oktoberfest 2024 while helping the Community.

Raise your steins to join the Davis Sunrise Rotary’s 18th annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 26, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, in Central Park in Davis.

This year’s menu will include brats, potato salad and green salad (vegan selection available). Along with each ticket (meal plus one beverage: $40 each/$30 for students, $45/$35 at the door), attendees can purchase beer (select from eight local brews), wine, non- alcoholic beverages, pretzels, and dessert items.

Tickets can be purchased online September 27- October 23 at davisrotary.org.

Attendees can enjoy music by the Grand Isle Fire Brigade oompah band, axe throwing, stein-holding competition, and participate in the silent auction.

Annually, this event raises $30,000-$35,000, thanks to the community’s support. We return these funds to our community through a variety of service organizations*. This year, one of the beneficiaries will be Yolo Crisis Nursery.

Davis Sunrise Rotary is a service club located in Davis, CA. The club meets in person and via Zoom on Friday mornings and all community members are invited to attend. For more information, community members can email Brodie Hamilton at brodie.hamilton49@gmail.com.

*Over the last several years, we have provided financial assistance to Yolo Crisis Nursery, Yolo Cares, Winters Farm to School, Suicide Prevention, Woodland Regional Park, Thriving Pink, Acme Theater Company, Paul’s Place, the Davis Unified School District (to enhance Wifi connectivity for distance learning) and more. We have also provided financial assistance and Rotarian workers (individuals and work groups) to Make It Happen, Yolo County Food Bank, Science and Technology Academy (Knights Landing), Fourth & Hope addiction treatment center, Progress Ranch, Meals on Wheels Yolo County, Empower Yolo (several projects), and more. Internationally, we support reusable sanitary pads and water projects in Kenya, clinician training in Uganda, a portable library system in South Africa and coral reef restoration in Panama.
