International House Davis (I-House) proudly announces its 40th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser, honoring four decades of welcoming newcomers, celebrating global cultures, and building bridges of understanding through language classes, cultural events, parenting groups, and exchange programs.

On May 29, 2025, I-House will host a special evening featuring the premiere of its new documentary short, “40 Years of International House,” which chronicles the organization’s remarkable history as a “home away from home” for international community members. View the short film trailer HERE.

“The world has changed in profound ways over the past 40 years,” said Shelly Gilbride, Executive Director of I-House. “At a time when immigration policies are tightening, global tensions are rising, and cultural understanding is often dismissed, spaces like I-House are more vital than ever.”

This milestone comes at a time of both celebration and resilience for I-House. Like many nonprofits, I-House is facing sudden financial challenges: a key federal funding source has been paused indefinitely, leaving a significant budget shortfall. Thanks to an outpouring of support during Big Day of Giving on May 1, I-House has made major strides toward closing the gap—but critical funding needs remain.
