Sips and Bites: A Taste of Ohlone Culture
April 21, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Freemak-‘asham (maak-am-haam) means “our food” in the Chochenyo language, the native language of the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay, the area known as “the East Bay.” Vincent Medina and Louis Trevino, co-founders of Cafe Ohlone, will be discussing their efforts on strengthening their culture through food. Their goal is to revive and honor traditional Ohlone foods, teaching the public through taste. Registered participants can purchase a curated box, which includes a selection of indigenous foods from Cafe Ohlone. Event is free, but registration is required.
