SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Walks in Davis
DESCRIPTION:Come join Davis Forest School for a Forest Bathing walk led by Forest Mentor Connor Rosenblatt! There are two opportunities to join\, both in Davis (exact location shared after registration): \n-Sunday\, February 22nd from 1:00-3:30pm\n-Saturday\, March 14th from 1:00-3:30pm \nWhat is Forest Bathing? \nForest Bathing is a nature-based wellness practice inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. In contrast to a hike\, Forest Bathing is a gentle\, mindful practice that emphasizes slowing down\, awakening our senses\, and connecting with nature (and ourselves) on a deeper level. During a Forest Bathing walk\, you will be invited to use your senses to intimately explore the natural world in the presence of a supportive community of practitioners. \nScientific studies have documented numerous benefits of Forest Bathing\, such as a decrease in anxiety\, a decrease in stress\, a decrease in blood pressure\, and an overall improvement in immune system functioning. Regardless of prior experience\, these walks are perfect for anyone interested in spending slow and intentional time in nature with a group. \nRegistration is $20 per person. This event is open to ages 13+.

SUMMARY:Residue of Ritual Opening Reception at The Barn Gallery
DESCRIPTION:The Barn Gallery’s upcoming exhibition Residue of Ritual: an exhibition of the discarded is a two-person show featuring works by artists Tana Quincy Arcega and Michael Ryan. The exhibition opens with a reception from 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday\, March 14 with local wine and light refreshments. The Gibson House will also be open to the public during the event. \nIn Residue of Ritual\, Quincy Arcega and Ryan curate a spectacle of objects and images culled from the endless deposits of residual materials resulting from our accelerated growth economy. Their visual commentary angles on the cultural mindset of mass production and waste as well as the vast array of ritualistic systems and customs that produce them. \nBoth artists share a visual language based in realism that journeys toward abstraction through mimicry\, utilizing traditional art media and building materials to accomplish this end. With a fascination for textures\, the artists bring to light the hidden materials that pervade our landscapes\, from plastic packaging to fashion waste. \nResidue of Ritual is on view at The Barn Gallery March 14 through May 23\, 2026. Regular open hours of The Barn Gallery are Tuesdays\, Wednesdays\, and Thursdays from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12-3 p.m. \nThe Barn Gallery and the Gibson House are located at 512 Gibson Road in Woodland. For more information\, visit www.yoloarts.org\, or contact ya@yoloarts.org or 530-309-6464. \nArtwork: Invisi Garment by Tana Quincy Arcega and Celebrating While Grieving by Michael Ryan (photo by Jessica Heuer)

SUMMARY:Davis High School Presents Urinetown—The Musical!
DESCRIPTION:Urinetown: The Musical \nSet in a grim\, Gotham-like city ravaged by a 20-year drought\, Urinetown imagines a world where private toilets are outlawed. Citizens must pay to use public restrooms\, all controlled by a single\, corrupt corporation that profits off one of humanity’s most basic needs. When an unlikely hero decides he’s had enough\, a rebellion is born—one that challenges authority\, exposes hypocrisy\, and asks what freedom really costs. \nHilariously funny and touchingly human\, Urinetown reexamines the very notion of what a musical can be\, proving that even in the darkest circumstances\, revolution can begin with a laugh—or a pee. \nLocation\nBrunelle Theater @ 315 W 14th Street. \nPerformances\nFriday March 6\, Saturday March 7\, Friday March 13\, Saturday March 14 @7:00PM\nSunday March 8 and Sunday March 15 @2:00PM \nTickets\n$15 general admission\, $10 for DJUSD students\, and $5 on Sundays for DJUSD students. \nYou can buy your tickets online at https://sites.google.com/view/davishightheatre/home or at the door. SUMMARY:Davis Craft and Vintage Fair
DESCRIPTION:Davis Craft and Vintage Fair began as the Square Tomatoes Craft Fair more than 10 years ago! The event was started by instructors from the UC Davis Craft Center in order to have a monthly craft fair for local artisans and the local community. We embraced local vintage vendors in 2017\, we’ve grown and we are still home to local artists and makers from the Davis and greater Sacramento area. \nWe collaborate with local non-profits starting with Couleurs Vives Art Studio who joined us in 2018! Many of our talented vendors can be found at other festivals like the Davis Phoenix Coalition’s Pride Fest\, the I-House’s International Festival\, and 2nd Friday ArtAbouts on E Street Plaza. \nExpect to see friendly vendors with local handmade and original art\, crafts\, quality vintage items\, upcycled treasures\, earth-friendly creations\, good food\, and more. Free live music fills the open space for a lively atmosphere so be sure to stop by and join us!  \n
