DESCRIPTION:Fall Registration for the Davis Youth Choir is now open; singing for ages five through high school! \nThe Davis Youth Choir is made up of three choirs: Hummingbird (Kindergarten to 2nd Grade)\, Lark (3rd to 9th Grade)\, and Bel Canto (7th grade to 12th grade\, advanced skills). Rehearsals begin the week of September 9th. Openings are limited\, so those who are interested in participating are strongly encouraged to reserve their place in the choir. \nSliding scale tuition available with support from the Davis Odd Fellows Encampment and Soroptimist International Club of Davis\, who believe in youth and music!

DESCRIPTION:YoloArts is pleased to collaborate with Woodland Community College Professor of Fine Art\, Manuel Fernando Rios\, to present this student showcase. This exhibition features exceptional WCC student work that will be on view at Gallery 625 through the summer. Featured artists include current and former WCC students. \nGallery 625 will hold an opening reception for the WCC Student Showcase from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday\, May 1. There will be live music provided by Harold Sexton\, as well as light refreshments. Awards sponsored by YoloArts will be announced at 6:30 p.m. \nGallery 625 is located in the Erwin Meyer County Administration building at 625 Court St. in Woodland. DESCRIPTION:Davis Craft and Vintage Fair began as the Square Tomatoes Craft Fair more than 10 years ago! The event was started by instructors from the UC Davis Craft Center in order to have a monthly craft fair for local artisans and the local community. We embraced local vintage vendors in 2017\, we’ve grown and we are still home to local artists and makers from the Davis and greater Sacramento area. \nWe collaborate with local non-profits starting with Couleurs Vives Art Studio who joined us in 2018! Many of our talented vendors can be found at other festivals like the Davis Phoenix Coalition’s Pride Fest\, the I-House’s International Festival\, and 2nd Friday ArtAbouts on E Street Plaza. \nExpect to see friendly vendors with local handmade and original art\, crafts\, quality vintage items\, upcycled treasures\, earth-friendly creations\, good food\, and more. Free live music fills the open space for a lively atmosphere so be sure to stop by and join us!  \n

DESCRIPTION:Herbie Hancock is a true icon of modern music. With an illustrious career spanning five decades and 14 Grammy Awards he continues to amaze. A child prodigy who performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 11\, Hancock has continued to make history many times over\, both as part of the Miles Davis Quintet and with his own groups including The Headhunters and VSOP. His compositions including “Maiden Voyage\,” “Chameleon\,” “Watermelon Man” and “Rockit” are modern classics. Throughout his explorations\, he has transcended limitations and genres while maintaining his unmistakable voice.
