SUMMARY:On a Clear Day...New landscape paintings by Phil Gross
DESCRIPTION:Right where we live’ is the subject of Phil Gross’s art show\, ‘On a clear day…’.\nGross’s oil paintings of northern California from aerial and ground perspectives can best be described as idealistic realism. SUMMARY:Color / Texture / Pattern at Gallery 625
DESCRIPTION:Gallery 625’s current exhibition is an appreciation of color\, texture\, and pattern explored through photography. Featuring 21 Northern California artists and over 50 artworks\, Color / Texture / Pattern highlights a wide range of perspectives\, styles\, and subject matter. \nHosted by YoloArts in partnership with the Woodland Camera Forum\, this photography exhibition aligns with Photography Month Sacramento 2026\, which will take place in April. Photography Month is a region-wide celebration of the photographic arts reaching across communities and bringing people together. \nPhotography Month Sacramento remarks\, “When we take and share photographs we are creating a common visual history and visual language. Exhibitions of photographic art hold a mirror up to society\, reflecting its interests and concerns while simultaneously confronting its ideologies and preconceptions. \nPhotography Month helps create opportunities for photographic artists by creating more physical spaces dedicated to the appreciation of the photographic arts and to create opportunities for vital discussions about images and ideas\, to bring diverse communities together in a shared space\, and to generate income for the local economy.” \nGallery 625 will hold a reception for Color / Texture / Pattern on Friday\, April 3\, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. with live music provided by Harold Sexton and light refreshments. At 6:15 p.m. award winners will be announced. The “Best in Show” award\, sponsored by Blue Wing Gallery\, will be presented by Al Eby. SUMMARY:The Crucible @ the Woodland Opera House
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Tom and Meg Stallard\nThe Crucible by Arthur Miller\nMarch 20 – April 4\, 2026 \nSet in 1692 Salem\, Massachusetts\, The Crucible follows the eruption of mass hysteria in a close-knit town after a group of young girls is discovered dancing in the woods. To avoid punishment\, the girls begin accusing townspeople of witchcraft\, igniting a wave of fear that fractures the wider community. As the court demands confessions\, respected citizens are forced to choose between self-preservation and truth. The accusations spiral into tragedy\, revealing how lies\, power\, and fear can destroy a society from within. Written in 1953 by famed American playwright Arthur Miller\, the play is in part an allegory for the anti-communist hysteria of the McCarthy era\, exploring the dangers of false accusations and the abuse of power. \nFor information on purchasing tickets please visit www.WoodlandOperaHouse.org or call our Box Office at (530) 666-9617. \n$20-45
