MANETTI SHREM. A time capsule that functions as an iceberg. The secret lives of cables. A parable born of a dream of a lost loved one. The aging skin of a dancer. All are bodies in motion and transformation: a body of work, a body of knowledge, a diseased body, bodily experience. Four California artists — including Phillip Byrne (M.F.A. 22) and Associate Professor of Art Beatriz Cortez — each present a new commissioned installation. Kang Seung Lee and Cortez are featured in the current Venice Biennale, and Candice Lin was in 2022’s edition. Free

GORMAN MUSEUM. In the solo exhibition, Brenda Mallory includes prints, multi-media and installation artworks to consider the complex relationships and structures of power and identity. A citizen of the Cherokee Nation who grew up in Oklahoma, lived experience deeply informs her practice, as do the histories of survival inherent to Indigenous peoples.
MANETTI SHREM. Start with dedicated art lovers and philanthropists Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem. Add 15 works from their collection by world-renowned artists — including Salvador Dalí, Vassily Kandinsky, Joan Miró and Francis Bacon.
