Matthew Grasso’s 18th Annual Celebration of the 7-String Guitar

The 18th Annual Celebration of the 7-String Guitar concert will showcase music consisting of both composed and improvised music for multi-stringed guitars. Sean O’Connor will present original works and transcriptions of the Baroque lute for the 11-string alto guitar. Matthew Grasso and Eric Rasmussen of Duo 7 will perform some transcriptions of Japanese Love Songs by Kosaku Yamada with vocalist, Aya Ueda. Guitar luthier Scott Richter will share his insights and innovations with multi-string guitar construction. Matthew Grasso will premiere his Three Serenades for the extended 7-string guitar. There will also be a group improvisation as a grand finale of the show. This annual concert on July 7th celebrates innovative guitar designs and a diversity of literature that highlights the artistry of the multistring guitar players.
