Mad Mouth Poetry presents BLACK POETS MATTER
July 25, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
BLACK POETS MATTER is a six-week curated poetry reading series with the goal of amplifying and centering Black and multiracial voices. Readings will occur every Saturday from 8-9:30 p.m. starting July 11 and continuing through Aug. 15. Each night will comprise six poets reading for seven minutes each with a 30-minute special featured poet.
Mad Mouth Poetry is a coalition of multicultural poets who strive to create and maintain spaces of self-expression that are anti-racist, anti-sexist and safe for everyone. We seek to prioritize and amplify the voices of poets that we believe to be under-represented: poets of color, intersectional feminist poets, and poets who are non-binary or non-conforming with regards to gender identity and sexual orientation. All are welcome.
