Black & Gold: Chinese & Japanese Ceramics at the Crocker Art Museum
Saturday, February 10, 1 – 2 PM online via Zoom (Free, suggested $10 donation)
Amelia Kit-Yiu Chau, Adjunct Curator of Asian Art at the Crocker Art Museum, explores the installation Black & Gold: Traditional and Contemporary Japanese and Chinese Ceramics, on view through Fall 2024. The 15 ceramic works in the installation span over 2,000 years, ranging from a Chinese Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE) black clay vessel to an intricate bowl-form sculpture by contemporary Japanese ceramist Hattori Makiko (born 1984).
