Acme Theatre Company Kicks Off The New Season With an Open House Party!
Acme Theatre Company is a local non profit organization run by and for 9th through 12th grade students. But even though teeneagers have been putting on plays in acme for almost 45 years, this will be its first annual Start of the Season Open House!
On Friday, September 13th, starting at 4:30pm, Acme’s group of friendly actors and technicians will be gathering at the Davis Arts Center with music, snacks, and answers to any questions you may have about what they will be doing this year, from all the plays they will be putting on, to all the ways you can be involved, and all the fun to be had along the way!
Besides the 5 tables with acme members telling you about our future productions, there will be a collaborative scene reading from our closest upcoming show: Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt 2B, followed by a pizza party to end off the evening.
Acme has decided to start this annual event as a way to open up the company to all interested 9th-12th graders and introduce them to what acme theatre company is, and who they all are, before the time to sign up comes. And to get everyone in the acme community excited about the year to come! Acme is completely free to join, and no prior theatre experience is required.
Community theatre is a great way to explore creative interests and passions, and gain experience and confidence working in a team. Acme Theatre Company is committed to a safe, and discrimination free environment, during the casting of a show, and through the whole time you are there. So everyone is welcome.
